provides a very thorough examination of your eyes. The major types of exams
are as follows:
Routine Vision Exam consists of determination of eyeglasses prescription and an evaluation of eye health and screening for ocular disease. The cost of this exam is $62. Contact Lens Exam includes the components of a routine vision exam and also the fitting and/or evaluation of contact lenses. A follow-up exam is often necessary and is included in the fee. First time contact lens wearers will also receive training on insertion, removal and proper care of contact lenses. (Training provided by vision center staff at no charge.) The cost of the CL exam is an additional $30 - $50 over the routine vision fee, depending on the type of contact lenses required. Contact Lens Fitting Only is done when a patient has recently (within two months) had a eye exam and is able to bring with them a written prescription for eyeglasses. The fee for the fitting is $35 - $55 and includes a follow-up (if necessary). Medical Office Visits vary greatly in
the level of service required. Most of these exams would be covered under
the patient's Medical Insurance. (not vision insurance) Some of the services
offered include the following: treatment for eye infections, dry eye
treatments, eye trauma, diabetic eye exams, exams for people with cataracts,
glaucoma, macular degeneration, flashes and floaters and most other
conditions and diseases affecting the eye. When necessary referrals will be
made to the appropriate specialist. The fee for medical visits vary with the
level of service required. |
